Crafter's ADD

This weekend I had it bad, it was my every intention to get busy with the 'everything pouch' demo but I have a cold, & when I have a cold I'm a big baby & easily give in to my whims. Well let me tell you, I was whimming hard when I saw this tutorial from Alisa Burke...I had to make one for my couch IMMEDIATELY. Doesn't it just scream Anthro?? I'm so happy with it!Then on Sunday P had to work so Samster & I made the trip to IKEA, I spent a good hour wrestling with an allen wrench to put her table & chairs together. For their great prices though, I can deal...
(Pardon the outfit, this is how she woke up from naptime, I didn't bother making her put her dress back on over her tights...you know how it is...)

So of course on Sunday night I just had to make her some yummy felt goodies for her new dining set. Here's the thing with felt food, at first, it's not as easy as it looks. At least for me that is, you have to get the hang of figuring out how to stitch things in 3-d, but with that said after the wonky strawberry & flat apple it made more sense & I was ready to whip up her turkey sandwich complete with lettuce, tomato & cheese.I used a few different tutorials but I got them all from the same place...one pretty thing. I'm sure you guys have all been to one pretty thing, it's probably how a bunch of you found me, but just in case you haven't you must, I repeat, MUST, go check it out. Rachel has created an internet crafting wonderland that I read daily. One new thing I learned though is that if you need a specific crafting topic, like felt food, you can click on her 'categories' button & it will pull up all past tutorial links under that topic. Beautifully easy, love it.

So dear, sweet, patient Samster friends, that's how I spent my weekend. And today I had to pay for my sins & rush to catch up on laundry & grocery shopping. Poor hubby had to wear a black undershirt under a white polo shirt to work. No bueno.

I'll get it together soon though, I'm still dreaming about that darn pouch every night, time to crank some out!

  1. I use this pattern for the strawberries: http://mrmonkeysuit.typepad.com/mr_monkeysuit/2008/05/felt-strawberry-tutorial.html

They make great cat toys too! I fill them with catnip and bring them to the animal shelter for the kitties occasionally.

  4. The pillow is another great idea how to use fabric leftovers!!!! Tha food is awesome - makes me want to have a sandwich! I also make fabric food for my kids http://mammasrokas.blogspot.com/2010/03/atpakal-majas-zaubes-mezina.html
But the main question - Teddy!!! My God - did you make it? Cause I have an order to make Teddy just like that! Never made one, so all my three attempts to make one yesterday ended up not so good.
