Hotel Prisoners.

That's what Samster & I feel like.

I shouldn't complain, at least we have power & heat. Lots in the area don't.

P's work decided they needed the staff to stay in a hotel next to the radio station (for those of you new to the blog my hubby works in radio) to be sure they could get to work in the morning. I wasn't about to stay in a house, during a blizzard, alone with a toddler, so we came along. That was yesterday morning, I thought we'd be home in our beds watching Dora by now but the blizzard thought otherwise. It's lasting much longer than they anticipated & we're out of clothes, have eaten the same room service 3 times & aside from standing on my head I'm plum out of ways to entertain my kid. I feel like some sort of caged animal stuck in a box with a rabid 18 mth old.

She started off happy...it was kind of like an adventure. We got to go to work with Daddy which was neat. But there's only so much mommy can pull out of her...diaper bag.Soon the cabin fever set in & tears started to roll. And that was just mommy.
I have to say the paci & tv rules have pretty much gone out the window. We're in toddler survivor mode now.

So we're staying here at least tonight too, the plows couldn't hit the roads today because the visibility was zilch and winds were tropical storm strength. We tried just stepping outside to see if we could walk to some other food and had to turn around because the snow whipped us in the face & froze to our eyeballs. Sometimes I really miss Florida. Although at least I can say I lived in DC for the snowiest winter in recorded history! We've even gotten more snow than Minnesota! I'm not sure how much they get but it's got to be a lot right?

I did take some pics of a super cute pair of pants that I whipped up for Samster before we left, I'll post them later. Don't worry, I'm sure I won't be too busy.

Wish us luck, sanity & speedy snow plowers dear friends!

  1. We're at home (in Frederick) and I think I'd love to be in a hotel even for a moment for just a change of something to look at! Seriously this snow thing is getting old!

  2. cute that Samster got to go to work with daddy! have you tried those online toddler games where they smash buttons? I don't love them but they can be nice to pull out of the air when you need to entertain a cranky toddler! You can google it or I've got one compilation bookmarked, hold on...

  3. I feel your pain. I have been stuck in the house with my 6 year old and 7 month old. Yesterday we went over to Tysons for a little bit just to get out of the house but I am out of things to do with them. And my hubby had to stay at the hotel across from his restaurant twice now (he's the executive chef for PF Changs). Although I am beginning to think it's just because he doesn't want to come home to the nut house! :) If I had known my older one was going to be out of school for over a week I would have planned our disney trip for now.

  5. Hang in there! At least you are all safe. I am a fan of the Kane show so I appreciate all you are doing but couldn't he work from home like the other day? I work at a day care and couldn't imagine keeping a todler in a room for that long. Is there a gym or something at the hotel that you could all run around in? She looked really cute at the studio, maybe she will be a dj. Anyways, I hope it gets better soon. Maybe you guys can go home tomorrow afternoon. I feel you on the cabin fever issue.

  6. I can't imagine being stuck in a hotel room with my wild 18 month old. I hope you make it home soon. I live in Utah where it's said we have "The Greatest Snow on Earth"...and I have NO snow on my front lawn. You guys are getting all our snow. I'm jealous!

  7. Oh my gosh, you poor thing! We were just in a hotel last month for one night with our 18 month old daughter and thought I was going to have to be taking to the looney bin.. We rode the elevator so many times, over and over... At least our hotel had a bar, nothing like a couple of glasses of wine to make it all better. Stay strong! Thinking of you!

  11. That's good that you're all together. I can see how the kiddo would get bored though, and that's tough!
