Homemade Valentine

Here's the card I made for P,On the inside a heart to write a little love note...And on the back a little signature to let him know this card was not bought at CVS...I've learned I can never be too clear.I made the card using a watercolor pad for the paper, some basic watercolor paints & a few foam dots behind the hedgehogs to give them a little dimension.Watercoloring is definitely going to be a new favorite of mine, there's so much room for error & I just love the ways you can make colors fade into eachother. (I did the detailing with a sharpie)Now for the gift. As you know from my post yesterday I've been a bit (a lot) stumped as to what to get him. I wanted to do something homemade, my husband just doesn't care about anything from the mall so why waste the money, but didn't know what he would enjoy. That's when I realized I was overthinking this. There's only one thing he really wants...But before I show you what's IN the box you have to promise me you are NOT a family member! I repeat, family members exit the blog now. I'll give you a countdown...

Ok, here it is...Nothing too crazy (but enough I wouldn't want my father-in-law to see) but if I'm really honest with myself what would mean more to my husband than any storebought gift or embroidered knick-knack is a night with his sexy wife. You know, the pre-wedding, pre-baby, you...

Funny thing is I bought everything in the pic at Target of all places...

Fudge body paint, body stencils, body paintbrush, chocolate syrup (ice cream toppings section), altoids (if you don't know what these are for I'm not going to tell you...google it) blindfold...you get the picture. I also tossed in some of my sexy lingerie (dust removed first) & threw it all in a pretty little photo box from the scrapbooking aisle. (bonus, I get a pretty new storage box after!)

Now I just have to give him the gift of not getting sleepy by 8pm.

Is it just me or do you guys have significant others who all they really, really want for V-day is some "mommy-daddy" time with you??

  1. Ooooh, you sent my mind in a scary direction--now I can't stop wondering if my FIL would know what those Altoids are for. Aaaaah--not a good thought!! LOL!

At any rate, my husband would LOVE a Valentine package like that. LOVE it. (And no, he's not getting one!)

    Your card is adorable, too!

  3. The funny thing is I was going to comment on your last post that your husband had just said on his show that all men want for V-day is for their ladies to put on some lingerie.

  8. I busted out some new naughty knickers for valentine's day; I showed them to my hubby earlier in the day and now he keeps hoping our daughter will fall asleep early, hahahaha.

  9. I also got my husband some "naughty knickers" as Lorichick said. And I made him some requested p**** passes that he asked for. Sheesh...But I did buy him a watch too so he knows its not all about "knocking boots" LOL. Moscato is chilling, Phoenix is drifting off.....:-D
