He HATED it.
Said it was a "mom cut" (although mind you it was based on a super cute Katie Holmes haircut but, whatever.) Here's a pic from then...(how cute is little Samster?!)When we found out I was pregnant with Chums he made me promise not to cut it all off again. Although I gotta say, I've been really tempted to chop it off because this time it only took 1 week after Sophie was born before I started getting that same frumpy itch. I decided some fun bangs would be a nice compromise. Added bonus about bangs is that whenever I wear my hair up (which is um, EVERYDAY) I still feel like it looks cute.
(and no, despite the way she looks in that last picture I assure you there is no hunch in her punch)
Want bangs? Here's a few cute celeb pics that you can print out and take to your hairdresser if you get the itch. The first of Zooey Deschanel is the one I used... Also can you see the cute lace bow headband on Sophie? I'll show you a tutorial for it in the next couple of days, my sisters were in town for the weekend and we whipped up a bunch of baby headbands...super cute!
So cute!! I am having that frumpiness feeling but I am really trying to grow it out- I wish I could pull off the bangs!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks so cute! I really wish I could have a fringe but it sits all funny when I do (plus makes my nose look massive!!)
ReplyDeleteYou look like Julia Roberts in the new hair photos.
ReplyDeleteYou are so pretty! Your hair looked gorgeous on you short and looks great long too. I love the bangs. Thankfully, my hubby doesn't care if I go long or short and says he loves it however I'm currently wearing it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs! I really want to get mine cut right now, but I'm worried that having them in my eyes will drive me crazy. Have you had that problem at all?
ReplyDeleteGeez... I have been doing the frumpy ponytail thing for years before having my girl... lol. Maybe someday I'll care about my hair and do something cute like that.... lol :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great on you though!
You look great! :)
ReplyDeleteThe look AWESOME! Zooey is so pretty and so are you.
ReplyDeleteLove the cut. And, I can't believe you just had a baby! You look amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove the bangs on you! your hair short looks cute too!
ReplyDeleteYour bangs are adorable. :) And your smile reminds me of Julia Roberts!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a sucker for bangs. My husband loves my hair long and every time I get the urge to chop it off I just do bangs. Now I have a shorter version of bangs. They look great on you!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the bangs! makes me want them! maybe tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! I can't stand to have bangs myself though, I hate when they get in my eyes, but I don't want them too short either.
ReplyDeleteI love the post-Samster haircut AND your new bangs! You can't go wrong. Wish I could have bangs too, but I am in a life long battle against an evil cowlick.
ReplyDeleteLove the new bangs....I'm in the same boat. #3 is due in 10 weeks....and I'm sure as soon as she arrives, my hair will get some sort of new style! I know it makes you feel better!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh your girls are jus adorable! Natasha you look so great and so happy.
ReplyDeleteI admit I cut off my hair in June, before my baby came and my husband hated it. I left it just above my shoulders, so it was not too short, but he likes it longer.
BTW---Thanks so much for your help with the Medela. I love it and it really does work great! (Plus, my insurance covered almost all of the cost, so that was an added bonus for me!)
I like the short 'do. I think it's fun.
ReplyDeleteBut the bangs look great, too. :)
I like both hair do's! I have the same thought about bangs, haha. I'm waiting for the weather to cool a bit to chop mine, for now I like the option to throw it up. The girls sure are cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs!!! And I don'tt think there is anything wrong with a mom haircut, I mean you are a mom :) But that is something that a husband and wife will never agree on.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I got the itch and cut off 12 inches- it was my way ensuring it couldn't ever fit in a bun or twisty up-do again. But, my husband loved it.
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs and they will definitely help your face look thinner as you work off the baby weight...which I can't really see anyways.
I had the exact same urge after Oscar was born. I think the desire for a short haircut is directly correlated to how often a baby spits up in your hair. :) I promised myself (and my husband) that I wouldn't chop it this tme around.
ReplyDeleteLove your bangs! I wish that was a look that worked for me.
That's funny, my husband has been trying to get me to cut my hair off short and flippy like it was when we met for like the last 7 years :) But thanks to your inspiration I am questing after a new hairstyle including bangs and keeping the length for now (I'm just not ready to let go yet but am desperate for a style that looks cute even when I pull it up or back or whatever). And I actually blogged about it! I am so bad at blogging... I will think "oh this would be a good blog" but then I don't write it up and then its not relevant anymore. Oh well, work in progress I guess :)
