A few of you asked me about a pattern for the little magnets I posted yesterday, I kind of just winged it but I thought it might be helpful for anyone's who's interested if I traced my finished pieces & posted a downloadable pattern for you.Just be sure to print "fit to page" so it prints out full size on an 8' x 11' piece of paper.
I mentioned on there too where I placed the magnets, you don't need to do anything special (no stitches or anything) for the magnets, I just thought I'd show you the widest part of the piece which is a good place for the big round magnet. I found you definitely need a nice strong magnet to hold it's pull through the felt.
Also I don't think I mentioned much about the thread, I used embroidery floss & if you'll notice with embroidery floss each "strand" is actually made up of several thinner strands. I used two strands for my stitches that way they were thick enough to show up but not too thick & bulky.
Have fun! I'm off to finish my playroom & mail out Mother's Day gifts (:
Ooo -- Thanks a mucho! I'll be running out to Michaels today on my lunch break!! Let's hope this turns out 1/2 as good as yours! And hopefully my little man will enjoy them...!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteWe are going on a road trip soon and thought having these on a cookie sheet would be fun to entertain my 3 year old on the 5 hour drive.
Those are so, SO cute! I think I might have to make one and wear it as a pin- they are beyond darling! Thanks so much, I'll be linking.
ReplyDeleteoi. I did not purchase magnets that were strong enough. my fridge toys are now just cute tiny felt toys... with slightly heavy centers... I made a heart, a fish and a strawberry... *le sigh*
