I'm so impressed with P. All by himself, with no prompting from me, P ordered flowers & a teddy bear for Samantha with a card that said, "Sam, will you be my Valentine? Love, Daddy" How sweet is that?!? I just had to let out an "awwww" just from typing it!
For me I made it nice and easy...remember how I posted about a month ago saying that Petunia Pickle Bottom was having a one-day outlet sale? Well, I picked out the bag I wanted and sent him the link. Then I walked over to the couch and told him, " I just sent you a link, get me this for Valentine's Day, you have to order it today, here's your wallet."
Now I know what some people are thinking, that makes me sound pretty shallow right? But you know what I've learned from the 9 years I've known P? He sucks at gift-giving. He almost always waits till the last minute, if not after the holiday, scrambles to find something and overnights it to the house. To avoid an inevitable fight I've started making it nice and easy for him...everyone wins. For this Vday however he did very very good, not just with Sam's gift either, he got me a card-even had it filled out in time and also ordered me a cute necklace with mama and baby bird charms that I had mentioned I liked. (Although in the interest of full disclosure I must mention that I don't have the actual necklace yet, I have a print out showing he ordered it and it's coming, but hey, he's moving in the right direction) For him I made him a invitation to an evening of steak aux poivres, molten chocolate cake and "entertainment". We put the Samster to bed early, popped a bottle of prosecco and had a really nice evening.
Awe, so sweet. Baby steps for P! Miss you guys, fun to see Sam growing SO fast!!!! XOXO!
