YAYYYYY!!!! IT'S SNOWING!!!
I love it! It's the only time that I don't mind the cold here...
So this weekend I actually got some time to do a little craft, you see Sam has been wanting to scoot along but her footie pajamas (which she's in 99% of the time) just slip when she pushes off in them. So I got to thinking about how I could get her some traction since it's way too chilly to be barefoot. Awhile ago I read on one of my favorite blogs (homemade by jill) that when she needed no-slip socks she just used puffy paint on the soles, wah-la! No slip socks!
Now yes, I knowww, they make footie pj's with no-slip bottoms but Sam is already well stocked with fleece 3-6 mth pjs and I really hate to go buy new ones when she's probably going to outgrow them in the month.
Here's the slippery pj's...
I started off by cutting out some inserts to go in the foots, that way I'd have a nice sturdy surface and they wouldn't fold in on themselves while drying. I used a cardboard box leftover from Christmas packages...
That's it! I picked up a handful of 89 cent puffy paints at Michael's and started painting. I paid special attention to the upper part of the soles since that seems to be where she puts the most pressure, I think they're pretty cute! Don't know how well they'll work but it was fun to do and costs less than $5 (:
Very cute. Good idea using puff paints for non-skid soles.
