I have something to tell you...

I'm sorry I couldn't tell you sooner, it just wasn't the right time.

This video will explain everything. (turn your volume on)

Did you watch it?!? Really?? Isn't that the cutest thing EVER!!

P made it for all of Samster's grandparents, I think he did SUCH a good job! I'm really sorry I couldn't tell you sooner, the one bummer about this blog is I write it for all of my great blog friends but have to also keep in mind that the entire creepy internet could be watching too. I just didn't want to share until things were more in the clear.

I'm 13 weeks along & am due August 27th which is exactly 9 days after Sam's due date was! Although Sam was 3 weeks early so hopefully Chum Chum (that's what we've nicknamed the baby by the way. Hey, it's better than 'Cletus the Fetus' which is what my husband was originally calling it) won't be early & they'll have a good month between their birthdays. I always said I wanted my kids to be 2 years apart so they'd be buddies and boy did we hit that on the mark!

Hopefully this also explains why over the last 2 months I've been kind of in & out with my blog consistency. The morning sickness this time was KILLER. Seriously, SOOOO much worse than with Sam. I threw up every single day, at least once a day, for 4 straight weeks. UGH!!
That's why you got so many recipe posts during that time, they're easy to put together. (;

I am cautiously optimistic though that the nausea is mostly behind me. Just like with Sam I seemed to hit 12 wks and magically start to feel better.

So that's the big Samster news! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really nervous to have another one. Life with Sam is finally "easy". She sleeps, plays by herself, has little conversations with us...it's really fun. The thought of going through that whole newborn stage again, with a toddler in tow, is intimidating to say the least. But I just keep telling myself, lots of people have had more than kid, many even closer in age than these will be & they kept their sanity just fine. Most of the time...

Can't see the video and sorry I haven't kept up with you in a while - got to about 33 weeks then litterally puttered out, gave birth and puttered out again - being a mom is tiring...no wonder my mom hid in the bathroom to get away from us.

  19. Congrats! What an amazing video. I bet the grandparents were so excited. My toddler's birthday is Aug 22, but her due date was Aug 29. It was nice to have them while it is still warm out and you don't have to be inside all the time (like during snow storms).

  36. Congratulations. The video was so touching! I loved it. I had all three of my kids close in age. When my first was 15 months to the day I had my second, I had my third when #2 was 21 months. It was alot of work, but totally paid off. Rest while you can. No lie! Sam naps, mommy naps. Once you have the 2nd it will be alot harder to ever rest. Best of luck and can't wait to hear all of your stories.

  47. Seriously cute video! Congratulations! An old wives tale says that if your early pregnancy is so very different from your first, that the sex of the baby is different. I was so sick with my first....several times a day, every day, for 6 months. With my second I was hardly sick at all....just a little bit. Boy and girl. Here's wishing you a happy and easy pregnancy!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Many congrats!! I hope you have a boy so that you can post some cute boy crafts... :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Congratulations! I am so excited to see what new crafts come with baby. Is it selfish to hope it's a boy so I can have more ideas for my little one? haha Loved the video, and I hope Sam isn't too bothered by the newest addition:)

  53. Congratulations! As a veteran Mum I can honestly, hand-on-heart, SWEAR that #2 is easier than #1 - you've done it all before and at least you know which end to stick on your boob and which end to stick into a diaper! Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy, the delivery and the fun to follow!

  54. Congratulations!! I think this is great! How cute would it be if it were a boy and you could make him cool outfits too!
BTW, August 3rd is the greatest day of the year to be born! No pressure! :O)
Please remember in all the chaos of life to take care of yourself!
    God Bless!!!
