(for those who couldn't tell what she was saying weren't familiar with the song, it's what Aurora sings in Sleeping Beauty)
Well, this past week her little brain exploded.
Her 1st real live princess, I don't know who was more excited, she or I, (her or me? oh poopoo on you grammar) but IT WAS AWESOME. And Aurora was sooo sweet. She walked Sam away from the line & knelt down next to her. The two of them had private princess chat. I can only imagine what they discussed, I'm assuming they kept it light. One thing princesses & 2 yr olds have in common is neither cares to discuss politics, finance or religion.
I do know that at some point Aurora asked Sam about her dress, to which she said "my mommy made it". Just about brought tears to my eyes. Ok, it totally did but cut me some slack, I was sleep deprived after staying up all night before our morning flight finishing that thing. Totally worth it though. Totally.
I'll have more pics of her DIY Cinderella dress & tell you what tutorials I used to do it tomorrow, for now I'm going to check off no.1 on my list below.
1. Get some sleep
2. Replace the fish tank motor before it gives out & I commit involuntary goldfishslaughter
3. Paint the entryway table blue
You??
also if you have a blog be sure it's either linked to your profile or leave it in the comment, I love to click on your comments & then go snooping to put a face with the name (:

ReplyDeletesuper cute! We live in Orlando so we go to Disney all the time but my lil one has always been afraid of the characters (even the real people) until we got randomly selected to have a private visit with Cinderella - she loved it!! So sweet! She also loved watching Sam singing on your video!

4. convince my almost two year old to trade in the necklace that she's become attached to for one that isn't so heavy that it leaves a mark on the back of her neck :-/
5. wash the disgustingly thick layer of yellow/green oak pollen off my car
What a precious moment! :)
ReplyDeleteMy to do list is way to long right now. Almost done binding this quilt.
I just wanted to comment since I'm actually reading on a computer for a change instead of my phone (usually while nursing!) I love seeing what you're up to and am inspired by you to do more. My daughter just turned three (total princess!) and my son is five months now. He eats every 2.5-3 hours and I think is finally over a painful gassy phase.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, on my to do list, (also about to check off number 1)
1. sleep
2. get gardening
3. get one serving of milk stored in the freezer!
Keep doing what you do!
Girl, I may or may not have wept with joy at my daughter's joy upon meeting Tink. Those Disney folks don't mess around, do they? God bless 'em.
ReplyDeleteMy to dos this week?
Swim a lot
Don't miss the hubs too much
Eat at least 8 cupcakes
Not kill my MIL

TOO CUTE! I cannot wait until my princess gets to meet a Disney Princess! Totally brings tears to my eyes just reading about it!
ReplyDeleteMy to do:
1. Survive my daughter having Croup...AKA drink lots of coffee!
2. Do the dishes.
3. Write a tute for my blog
so much more to do but b/c of #1... it is just not going to happen!
I started to tear up when I read "My mommy made it". So sweet. I was never really into princesses and such, so if my daughter is, I'll have to write you for some advice.
ReplyDeleteI don't know all of the detail behind A's dislike of Sleeping Beauty, but I found out tonight while discussing said controversy that she's one of my husband's favorites because he remembers seeing the movie as a kid and thinking that the prince was pretty freakin' awesome for slaying the dragon. And just hearing him remember that was enough to make me teary-eyed about Aurora. That and she was also fantastic to K when we met her in September. I was all set to dislike the characters in real life... and then they're so sweet to the kids! Hail to the princess!
ReplyDeleteOh this picture brought tears to my eyes! .. well, almost. a teensy bit. nothing that cant be blinked away. Hee! I love it when my girls pridefully say that I made their clothes.
ReplyDelete:)
my to dos are silly:
1. get over this wicked cold
2. crochet a yoke or two more for another few spring tops for the girls
3. work on refashioning some old jeans into a new denim skirt, my oldest is super excited about this RECYCLING project, she says. :)
4. come up with something new to post in my blog, the carrot marshmallows were too weird to share the recipe to..

Awwww. That's actually really cute. Love the dress comment. So let me tell you, we bought tropical fish and forgot to salinate (is that a word? put proper salt), their water. they all died like BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. One after the other. Since then we bought goldfish and Le Chef is like crazy about taking care of them (two little fish). He's all screaming through the house, "Did the fish get lunch?!?". Seriously, every day he's scared about their meal time. I'm like, "did mom get lunch? NO. Did mom get sleep? Double no".
ReplyDeleteWTF? Goldfish. I thought it would be easy.
great picture! and that would make my heart melt too if my daughter so proudly said that :)
ReplyDelete1. edit pictures from my wine and cheese party to get up on the blog this week
2. whip up 10 pairs of your leg warmers for various birthdays/baptisms/arrivals of baby girls
3. do a newborn photo shoot with a tutu from your tute
a {day} with lil mama stuart
That's precious! Your kids are so cute :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your to-do list idea! I'm going to start doing it on my blog too. I totally need the peer pressure...I mean motivation!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog at http://annehamilton77.blogspot.com/
Totally taking my 4 year old to see Fresh Beat Band in May. I am not telling him until the day of. I may cry as well. Something about seeing our kids so stinkin excited and happy.

ReplyDeleteThat picture is fantastic!! It makes me want to rush Avery to Disneyland right now!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a gorgeous picture! My plan for the week is to work on my photography so that when my daughter is old enough to take to Disney I can take great pictures like this. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
