Photo Garland

We may not have had an actual party like I planned but that's no reason I shouldn't share my decorations with you right? I just love this one, I think for future bdays I'll just add onto it and hang it every year.
To crop each photo into a symmetrical square use your photo editing software of choice (I like google's picasa) and crop photo in a "cd cover" shape. (on mine it was called "jewel case")

If you want to add text, like your child's age in each photo, it's usually as simple as clicking on the "add text" button in your photo editing software! Don't be scared!

Next print away...

Use a paper cutter or plain ol' scissors to cut out cardstock for each photo (scrapbook paper will be too flimsy, cardstock gives it some strength) attach the photos using your photo safe adhesive of choice.

Punch a small hole around a 1/2" in on the top two corners, next string a 5 in piece of ribbon through the hole on the side of two different photos and tie it into a pretty bow, continue to attach all photos in this manner. On the ends of the garland you can string a large loop for hanging.

This is still up in our entryway, I'm just not ready to take it down yet. (:
Thank you so much for all of your comments and messages wishing Sam well, she's feeling so much better and we got back some test results today that were really good. I've gotten such a new outlook on the kindness of strangers since starting this blog, people really are generally kind-hearted, especially mommies!

  1. Ok, this is TOO cute! I love it and I love the idea of adding more as she gets older. It will be great to see how much she grows. I hope the Samster is feeling better!!! Did she at least get to pig out on the cake??

  2. This is cute...but I may want to wait until this kid reaches 16, 18, or 21 to do it...or even more good: wedding rehearsal dinner. I plan on doing a first year album for the baby.
