Tinkerbell Romper

We're taking Samster to Disney & I really wanted to make her a special outfit for the park, I wanted it to be a Disney character but also really light & comfy, no fancy poofy princess dress. (Florida can already be uncomfortably hot in April) I started off with the idea of a Snow White dress but as I sketched it out I just thought it looked more like a superhero than Snow White.
That's when I came up with this Tinkerbell romper and I gotta say I LOVVVE IT!It's so easy too! It's made from two XL adult knit tees & I'm hoping to get enough time tomorrow to write out an in depth tutorial for making one with or without the Tinkerbell skirt. (the skirt is just attached to the knit romper at the end...also, you only need one adult tee if you're not making the Tinkerbell skirt)Soooo, do you like??

  2. I don't like it at all. I LOVE it! Samster looks incredibly cute in her new outfit. My 5 year old is going to request (read: demand) that I make her one as well, so that tute would be a welcome addition to my feed reader. (Not that all your posts aren't welcome but I digress.)

I'd also like to give you a huge pat-on-the-back for having such a happy child. You are doing something absolutely wonderful in parenting that baby. Keep up the good work, Natasha.

  4. Your little girl is incredibly gorgeous, as well as this outfit! I'm looking forward to the tutorial! I think mine would look cute as well in this little dress. Seems perfect for summertime. I'll keep an eye open for green tees/fabric.

I also love how it's not over-the-top. Really great job!

  14. Super cute! I love it!

I recently made a Minnie Mouse type outfit for my daughter for a trip to Disney. The look on her face when she saw that she matched Minnie was priceless.

  16. Love it! You really make me want to go out and buy a sewing machine, but then I'd have to learn to use it! How did you put the 3 picture collage together? You have a Mac, don't you?? What cool picture software program do you have?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Actually I just used Picasa, it's free for download for google and I like it SO much better than iPhoto, the program that came with my mac. It has a "Collage" button that let's you put any amount of pics you want into one collage. Sooooo easy and use friendly. Google and I are buddies. (although I do fear that one day they may try to take over the Earth)

  40. LOVE IT! We just got back from DisneyWorld in March and had a BLAST! My girls were dressed as princesses/tinkerbell/minnie mouse depending on the day. But nothing as cute as this (just the Target dress up dresses/junk food tees).

Be sure to get Samster on Buzz Lightyear (it's not just for BOYS).

  49. Your daughter is the most adorable little girl ever!!! I don't mean to sound like a creeper, but she is "bite-ably cute" - her perfectly chubby little cheeks and arms. I bet people stop you all the time in public to just tell you how cute she is. Good work! :)

  70. Oh My Gosh! I want one in MY SIZE!! Is that even a possibility? (I know I would need to buy jersey material instead of using T-shirts, but that would be so cute and fun in the summer over a swimming suit!)

    ReplyDelete
  71. I am in love with your t-shirt things for little kids! I am hoping I get enough guts to actually try some things and can I just say that I am loving the elastic thread- I have never heard of it, but it just sounds like the answer to so many of my problems!
I really gotta learn to sew better! You are so inspirational in that department!
